Day 141 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. Today’s statistics for COVID-19 from Florida’s Community Coronavirus Dashboard for Bay County are 3,956 cases and 42 deaths, and for Florida are 519,952 cases and 7,526 deaths. Today was an exceptionally sad day for Bay County as there were 16 deaths reported. Cases are going down, but deaths are going up.

My first task this morning was to attack my overgrown backyard. Now that it is so hot outside I am really resisting working in the yard. But I put in an hour and made some real progress. But I definitely will not win “Yard of the Month. “

My next task was to unloaded my car of my tools and supplies I took while teaching my Enamel Meet Metals class at GCSC. The college lets me leave most of my tools and supplies in a locked closet during the weeks I am teaching. I do take my Craftsman stacked cart home with me each week, as it contains fuel that I don’t feel I should leave at the college and supplies I want to use at home during the week.

Getting the supplies and tools from my car to my workshop is a challenge. I think my lot is about 150 feet deep. My car is near one end of the property and the door to my workshop is at the other end of the property and there is not a good path to get there. On my “I Want List” is a cement path from where I park my car to the entrance of my workshop. But first comes the Hurricane Michael repairs.

Once I got everything back to the workshop I spent the afternoon putting things away. While I was at it I began reassessing how the workshop is setup and whether it works. I made minor progress, but it is a work in progress.

Last summer I took an online workshop with Lyn Belisle. This past weekend I rediscovered her and took a free online workshop on making a lotus book. I so enjoyed it I bought her ebook that is interactive entitled Postcards to Myself. I am hoping this will jumpstart me in working in collage again. I hope to get started tomorrow.
