Day 136 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. Today’s statistics for CVOVID from Florida’s Community Coronavirus Dashboard for Bay County are 3,392 cases and 25 deaths, and for Florida are 483,030 cases and 6,709 deaths. Locally there were two deaths reported today: a 58-year-old man and a 68-year-old man. There are 85 people in local hospitals suffering from the virus. And Florida for the third day in row beats its record for the most deaths in a single day. Very sad. The county is getting three new drive-through testing sites and the first one opened today. Supposedly, results will be available in less that 48 hours.

I cooked today, making Black Bean soup in the Instant Pot. After the beans were cooked I added cooked sausage and kale and cooked it all in the instant pot for 3 more minutes. I decided to do it in two steps, as I didn’t want the kale to completely disintegrate or the sausage to turn to mush. I will freeze some and also have for dinner for a few nights until I get tired of it. Boy did I make a mess though; I am not a tidy cook.

While the soup was cooking, I watched a video I bought from Charmed I’m Sure Studio. I wasn’t interested in the project, I wanted to see how she did the enameling technique. After lunch I made my first piece based on what I learned from the video.

I also caught President Obama eulogy at John Lewis’s funeral. That man sure has a gift for words, I could listen to him all day. And he sure honored Rep. Lewis in a very personal way and challenged us all to do more.

Usually I get together with Theresa and Nancy on Thursdays, but it was Nancy’s day to cook and serve dinner to the needy at Grace Episcopal Church. So I am feeling a little isolated.
