Day 118 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. Today’s statistics from the Department of Health for COVID-19 for Bay County are 1,027 cases and 5 deaths, and for Florida are 244,151 cases and 4,203 deaths. The statistics from Florida’s Community Coronavirus Dashboard for Bay County are 1,043 cases and 7 deaths, and for Florida are 254,601 cases and 4,203 deaths. These statistics depress me, especially considering that much of this suffering would not have happened if the state had not opened too early. Plus not enough is being done to stem the virus in my humble opinion.

I have been in a funk lately. Everything I do seems like a chore, even the fun stuff. Or maybe there is not enough fun stuff. I seem to be in a rut and am stuck. But now that I have recognized it, I can start working to change things up.

I did get to my workshop today. And I made a sample for my class on Monday on making a tab setting for an enamel piece. One thing about working in my new workshop, I don’t always know where everything is. Today I could not find my bench pin. It was not where I though it should be, and it took a bit of searching to find it. And now that I am teaching at GCSC Community Education, I have stored some of my tools there. Today I wanted to use my Dremel, but all my collets were at the college and I did not have a mandrel to fit the one that was on it. So I had to do a lot more filing because of it, but that was probably good, as filing turned out to be relaxing.

I started watching Warrior Nun on Netflix. Usually I am not a big fan of superpower shows, but I am intrigued so far. We will see if it holds my interest.
Stay Safe, Stay Health, and Wear a Mask
It is sad to think that so much of this Covid surge could have been avoided. Hard not to feel that way. Stay safe. I’m in NJ, we’ve been through the worst and now coming out of it
