Day 102 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. Today’s Department of Health’s statistics for Bay County are 230 cases and 4 deaths, and for Florida are 103,503 cases and 3,238 deaths. The statistics from Florida’s Community Coronavirus Dashboard for Bay County are 245 cases and 5 deaths, and for Florida are 111,973 cases and 3,333 deaths. Bay County reported 25 new cases today, which is the most one day total to date. Now there are only 2 ICU beds left in the county. To me that means things are getting real critical here.
I did venture out and did my grocery shopping, and I wore my N95 mask. First I went to Sam’s Club. I was surprised to see that most of the shoppers were wearing masks, which is different than when I went two weeks ago. While I was there I also filled up my gas tank. It was almost 30 cents a gallon cheaper there than the station near my house. This is the second time I have put gas in my car since the beginning of March. Next stop was Publix. Again, most of the shoppers wore masks. I am hoping that people in my community are taking the virus more seriously because of the spike in cases.
I got home and before I could put my groceries away I realized that I did not get toilet paper and paper towels. As I am on my last roll of toilet paper, I immediately got back in the car and went to the closest Dollar General as it is closer than Publix. What a difference. The employees were not wearing masks nor were most of the customers. Plus the store looked like a bomb went off. I got what I needed but I will not be shopping there again until after the pandemic.
By this time I was super hungry. I had treated myself to Publix’s cooked unbreaded spicy chicken wings, so I had some of them and the last of my cucumber salad for lunch. Easy Peasy.
After lunch I headed to the workshop to work on my Freebie Friday project. I did finish it, but am not crazy about it. But that is often the case with the prototype. I will make another tomorrow that hopefully I will like better now that I have the process figured out.
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.
