Day 90 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. This morning’s statistics for COVID-19 for Bay County are 135 confirmed cases and 4 deaths, and for Florida are 67,371 cases and 2,801 deaths. The New York Times had an article entitled “5 Rules to Live By in a Pandemic.” Check it out as there is some great advice there. In the article they referenced the website Covid Act Now. At this site you can reference the health of your county, which I did for Bay County. To quote the site: “On average, each person in Bay County, Florida with COVID is infecting 1.40 other people. As such, the total number of active cases in Bay County, Florida is growing at an unsustainable rate. If this trend continues, the hospital system may become overloaded. Caution is warranted.”

Today the new roof is being put on, in fact it is still going on. I don’t know how those guys work out in the Florida sun all day. I banished myself to the workshop out back as the noise level was high in the house. But I am back in the house now as I wanted to make some adobo sauce with my dried chipotles chilies, which is now simmering on the stove. I like to use the sauce and chiles to make chipotle mayo, which is yummy with my roasted sweet potatoes.

While in the workshop I worked on enameling some copper leaves I had formed. At first I didn’t know what I wanted to work on. Then I pulled out a container that I had labeled “To Finish.” I started cleaning up some metal pieces then I discovered a baggie of copper leaves, probably from when I was teaching metalsmithing. So that entertained me for most of the day.
