Day 82 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. This morning’s statistics for COVID-19 in Bay County according to the Florida website are 99 confirmed cases and 3 deaths, and in Florida are 57,477 cases and 2,530 deaths. Yesterday the above website had listed for Bay County 100 cases, and the The Florida Department of Health in Bay County stated on June 1, there were 100 cases. So what is going on here?
This morning I drove out to my friend Susan’s house in the country. She has chickens and a huge garden. I bought 2 dozens eggs from her and she gifted me some cucumbers. It is about a 30-40 minute drive out there and so I listened to The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen and read by Julia Whelan. I’m about half-way through the book, so the jury is still out of whether I like it. At least it has kept me interested so far.
Then I spent the rest of the morning on the phone with my mortgage holder. First I was on hold for an eternity, after speaking to the customer service rep, I was transferred to the correct department and put on hold for awhile. I talked to that person and then transferred to another department. I finally was able to get the information I was seeking plus sent to a website where I am to submit my paperwork. In addition I have a direct number to this department if I need it now.
While having lunch I got a call from the termite company and the representative was in the area and wondered if he could come by and I said yes. And yes I have termites, and they will be treating my house on Monday.
I also got call backs from the roofing company and the window company. I set up dates for them to come by and give me estimates. So it was a busy, productive day.
And this afternoon I watched the news about the mostly peaceful protests going on all around the United States. A sad time for us all.
