Day 76 of Safer-at-Home here in Panama City Beach, Florida. This morning’s statistics for COVID-19 in Bay County are the same, 97 confirmed cases and 3 deaths, and for Florida are 52,634 cases and 2,319 deaths.
I woke up too early this morning and tried to get back to sleep, but once Moonie, the cat, realizes I am awake she starts to make noises that mean “feed me.” So I got up. Once I got dressed and had breakfast, I headed to the studio and worked on the samples for my Freebie Friday Zoom session with some of my past students. They are almost done, and I still need to finalize the instructions.
I had leftover chicken salad and corn salad for lunch. After lunch I spent time getting the Spotify app to work on my Roku TV. I have had the TV for a few years and every time I tried to use Spotify it just seemed like too much trouble, so I never set it up.Today I decided it was time. First I had to open the app on my phone. Well this was a problem because the app on my new iPhone wouldn’t accept my password. It sent a link to one of my gmail accounts, not my main one, and I guess I hadn’t used that account on my phone, so I had to look up that password. By this time, the link to Spotify was no longer good and I had to resend it. Finally I got it all set up. Moonie sat in my lap and enjoyed the music with me while I caught up on my Words with Friends games.
Then I began work on my presentation on Fold3.com, a military records site, for the next Bay County Genealogical Society Zoom meeting in June. I had done a presentation on Fold3.com five years ago and found that Power Point Presentation in my computer. Next I began to update it. I got bogged down in its cost and how it is linked to Ancestry.com. My brain got all foggy and I decided to work on it when I felt fresher. So I turned to researching how to show a Power Point on Zoom. Tomorrow when I Zoom with Nancy and Theresa I will ask for their indulgence to see if I can get the Power Point to show up on Zoom.
I decided to start reading Visual Intelligence: Sharpen Your Perception, Change Your Life by Amy E. Herman, which is free with Amazon Prime. It is a guide to seeing and communicating more clearly, using full color pictures of art and photos. I read a few chapters and I like her approach.
Then I remembered it was space launch time and turned on the TV, but unfortunately it was aborted and is rescheduled for Saturday. I hope I remember to watch. Growing up my family always watched the space launches together, it was so exciting. One of the reporters was at Cape Canaveral where the families were sitting on the beach waiting for the launch and I could feel their excitement, and I am sure they were disappointed when the launch was postponed. I hope they are able to return on Saturday.
