Day 69 of Sheltering-in-Place here in Panama City Beach, Florida. This morning’s statistics for COVID-19 for Bay County are 86 cases and 3 deaths, and for Florida are 47,471 cases and 2,096 deaths . Rebekah Jones, the architect of Florida’s COVID-19 Dashboard and the place where I get my statistics, was fired on Monday. She claims it was because she refused to manipulate data on the website. Interesting. Of course the state is denying that fact.

There have been severe thunderstorms this afternoon. It is the first measurable rain we have had since the storm on April 24. The thunder was right overhead for quite awhile and was very loud. But the plants are happy.

I walked this morning and then filled up my two yard debris trash cans. I still have a pile of debris left but should be able to get it all out next week. Then I can start a new pile.

I had been on the waiting list for Misfit Market, but I got a notice today that limited spots were open, so I jumped at the chance to sign up. My first box should arrive next Friday.

Yesterday I made a mask for my daughter Mary, using one of the free patterns here. I want to make another one, as I made a minor mistake. I had planned to do it today, but the day just slipped by. Part of it was because I participated in a Zoom Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) local chapter meeting. I am always amazed at the energy and vitality of this group of women.

For lunch I ate the last of the pulled pork Mary gave me, with some BBQ sauce, roasted sweet potatoes and a big tossed salad. After lunch I made a corn, cucumber and tomato salad the I can eat on for the next few days.
