Little Piles Everywhere

Day 24 of Sheltering in Place here in Panama City Beach, FL. This morning’s figures are 23 confirmed cases in Bay County and our first death, and 11,111 cases in Florida and 191 deaths. As someone pointed out in the News Herald these numbers are really a reflection of the past as sometimes it takes a while to get the test results back. So who knows what is happening in real time. How long will it be before we become like New York, with a shortage of beds, ventilators and PPE? I hope never. It is scary how they are allocating resources. For my political rants you will have to go to my Twitter feed @mkpcbeach

I tried to have a practice Zoom meeting for the Bay County Genealogical Society Board of Directors this am. Unfortunately we didn’t get a quorum, so I do not know if this will be a viable way to meet. But I enjoyed interacting with those that participated. We laughed and chatted about what we are going through.

I sometimes have the feeling that I have been put in solitary confinement with privileges. While I have the freedom to come and go as I please, I do not have the freedom to interact with people, except through texting, phoning and zooming. We are social creatures so I am wondering what toll this isolation will have on us.

Have I mentioned I have little piles everywhere in my house and they are starting to get on my nerves. But there is not much I can do about it until I get the shed finished and move the studio things out of the house, which will make room for all these little piles. So I guess I better sign off and get working.
