Among the many things I like about teaching is the sharing that goes on amongst the students. Yesterday’s class involved the use of stencils as a surface design element in enameled jewelry. While I brought my stash of stencils, Carol and Kim brought some also. Everyone oohed and aahed over these. They shared where they got them and let others use them.
I’m especially lucky this time to have my friend, Nancy Johnson, join me in helping out. She sometimes has a different approach to a technique, and can help a student understand or see something in a new light.
Next Mondays class is going to be about sgaffito, which I will talk about in my next post.
